The Cloud Engineering & Operations organization is a software engineering team focused on developing and improving Pega Cloud product functionality and highly automated support services used by our customers. The team will integrate cutting edge Cloud technology with PRPC products and services to reduce customer implementation time, improve the release adoption rate, and, shorten the support request cycle time; thus reducing internal costs, driving increased bookings and enabling faster sales radiation across our worldwide customer base.

MANAGER – CLOUD ENGINEERING & OPERATIONS

(Exp: 10 – 14 Yrs)

Work Location : Bangalore, IN



The Mgr. – Cloud Engineering & Operations is responsible for four key functions within the team; organization; Security, Production Engineering, Systems Development, and Customer Operations. Together these three functions deliver PegaCloud products and services that meet or exceed advertised customer SLA’s for service availability and mean time to repair based on customer contract commitments. This role is responsible for providing transparency to our internal and external clients by the development of integrated PRPC solutions that track and report incident, problem and change management functions, as well as customer cloud usage, performance, reliability and utilization. Finally this role is responsible for driving process excellence which will be a critical for delivering third party security (PCI-DSS, FISMA, HIPAA) and process excellence (ISO 27001/27002) certifications required by our Cloud customers.



Description of Essential Duties and Responsibilities



Leadership/Managerial

 Track all Cloud implementation and post-implementation adoption activities and processes with a strong sense of quality ownership and customer advocacy such that the overall success of the customer is achieved.

 Explaining issues and presenting a clear technical approach going forward.

 Effective and persuasive communication of plans, roadblocks and successes with colleagues and customers and making recommendations for improvements

 Strong experience in assessing and managing project risk, and driving tactical objectives in an assertive, fast-growing, dynamic, mission-critical Engineering organization

 Develop a good working relationship with other Pegasystems Engineering, IT and Pega Consulting teams to maintain and leverage customer feedback into Product Engineering.



Technical/Operational Expertise

• Automated and manual customer support/helpdesk processes and technologies

• Hands on understanding of PAAS and SAS Cloud computing models

• Solid grasp of VM and Elastic Computing Cloud technologies

• Managing development of PRPC applications to run the Cloud organization

• Enterprise systems operations experience of:

• Applications deployment & upgrade

• Hot-fix management

• Enterprise Systems integration

• Infrastructure roll-out

Functional Expertise

• Create, Define, Manage, Track and Improve processes to ensure effective services are being provided and meeting contractual Service Level agreements / Key Performance Indicators.

• Assist in the gathering of requirements for the design and development of key business systems for automating the provisioning and management of customers onto Pega Systems cloud platform



Required Qualifications:



• BA/BS Degree in Engineering or Computer Science

Additional Preferred Qualifications:



• PRPC Technical and Product knowledge and operations is a definite plus

• Knowledge of Amazon Cloud Computing Services

• Experience managing 3rd party contractors and third party audits on behalf of external customers

• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations used by our customers (FedRamp, SOC2 PCI, HIPAA, FISMA, ITIL & ISO 27001/27002)

• Usage and operation of industry recognized systems operations tools such as Splunk, Zenos, Hyervisor or Putty

• Knowledge of Agile development methodologies such as SCRM





SENIOR SYSTEMS ENGINEER – CLOUD PRODUCTION ENGINEERING

(Exp: 4 to 6 Years)

Work Location : Bangalore, IN







Mandatory Skillset:



 Linux/Unix server admiration(handling RPMs)

 Hands on experience on AWS, EBS, S3, Cloud Front, Elastic features, RDS

 Experience in REST, SOAP based webservices

 Programming experience is must (either in scripting languages like Ruby or any OOP language like Java).

 Application server and Database administration and maintenance

 Level 1 – 2 knowledge in security of OS, DB and network

 Experience in capacity planning, sizing and growth forecast

 Implementation experience in AWS monitoring and ALERT MANAGEMENT

 Improvise customer environment with best practices

 Flexible to work on open source tools

 Strong analytical and logical skills

 Should be ready to learn new technologies surrounding cloud environment





Desired Skillset



 System Administration experience

 Any High availability implementations internally or over the cloud

 DB high availability implementation / maintenance

 Understanding and Usage of 3rd party cloud connectors like cloud watch etc..

 Smart Customer facing skills

 Individual performer in stressed situations, should be able to work with minimal directions

 Overall understanding of Datacenter technologies – Storage technologies





SYSTEMS ENGINEER/SENIOR SYSTEMS ENGINEER – CLOUD OPERATIONS & SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT

(Exp : 3-6 Yrs)

 Strong application design and development skills in implementing high availability, high performance applications.

 Strong technical acumen and ability to contribute to the development process

 Familiarity with one or more of the business processes in above target industries.

 Proficient with technology-based tools and processes.

 Required expertise:

 3-6 years of experience in analysis, design, development, and application deployment of large scale Java centric enterprise application systems.

 Application servers (Tomcat, WebLogic,WebSphere)

 Databases (Oracle/ DB2/MySQL)

 Javascript, CSS, HTML experience is highly desired

 OO and Systems Development experience.



 Writing skills – capable of writing high quality, professional documents.

 Organizational skills – can coordinate and prioritize many tasks simultaneously.

 Analytical ability – can quickly evaluate workflow alternatives.

 Experience with distributed system technologies or PRPC SSA Certification Required a plus.
