• This opportunity is one of our key positions in India. The Development Manager collaborates closely with key leaders to develop strategic projects, plans and processes, streamline decision-making, and develop and manage an engineering team. The Development Manager leverages technical expertise and industry trends to influence development processes and product quality.

• The Development Manager will be comfortable working with the business to understand their needs. They will also possess strong technical skills, have a career history of strong hands-on software engineering and development experience, and the tactical and visionary leadership skills to motivate, guide, and earn the respect from a highly talented engineering team.

• The Development Manager will act as a technical leader in internal teams including managing code reviews, post project analysis and clearly articulating throughout the duration of projects what is important to the project's success and focuses on the critical few and priorities to improve. They will provide leadership for planning, recruiting and managing part of a world class technology, product development and application engineering team delivering a world class enterprise solutions portfolio and offering enabling services.

• The Development Manager will have experience with software development lifecycle methodologies and frameworks such as Agile, Scrum, Test Driven Development, etc. The Development Manager effectively implements SDLC, modifying it as necessary, utilizing best practices across the company and/or industry.

• The Development Manager develops and applies highly effective team operating mechanisms to achieve the business objectives. The person is expected to continuously assess, and if necessary, redesign processes to ensure that they are repeatable, sustainable and scalable. The person drives results through proactively collaborating across organizational boundaries, and ensures end-to-end execution that most effectively delivers for the right stakeholders.





Qualifications:

• Experience working with remote US based product development teams is desired.

• Engineering or Computers degree.

• 10 to 15 years of experience in developing software systems.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in managing software development teams.

• Prior experience in managing production support of online applications along with multiple concurrent rapid iterative development projects preferred.

• Ability to manage small (12-15member) high caliber development and QA engineers.

• Strong decision maker and driver.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills and methods; with multiple levels of internal stakeholders.

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across teams, functional groups and divisions.

• A highly technical and result-oriented leader experienced in determining goals and matching those with customer requirements and product roadmaps. Adept at leading positive change, empowering people, cultivating product technology visions and innovative solutions, and fostering effective engineering teams.

• Proven track record of establishing software engineering processes that result in dramatically improved product quality, predictable schedules and short cycle times.

• Expertise and experience in strategic planning and rapid delivery of innovative, high quality software solutions for complex business problems.

• Strong business acumen. Understands the business internal and external landscape and thinks/acts strategically for all stakeholders.

• Able to wear many hats in product development or business.

• Drives strategic technology/engine reuse, technology and architecture health, and development process improvement

• Good knowledge of algorithms & data structures.

• Demonstrated experience in using Java J2EE technology and open source technology like EJB, spring, hibernate etc.
